A child of Elon Musk no longer wants to be associated with the famous father – and is applying for a new name in court in Los Angeles.
One of Elon Musk’s seven children has petitioned Los Angeles County Superior Court to ditch the famous Musk surname. According to court documents, Xavier Alexander Musk’s name is set to be changed to Vivian Jenna Wilson. There will be a court hearing on Friday.
Kind doesn’t want to be associated with Elon Musk
The news site TMZ quoted a reasoning from the court documents. This states that Vivian Jenna Wilson has not lived with her biological father for a long time and does not have a close relationship with him. In addition, gender identity is also a reason for the desired name change. The teenager wants to be officially recognized as a woman in the future.
The application was submitted in April – one day after her 18th birthday and her coming of age. Vivian Jenna Wilson is one of five children Elon Musk has with writer Justine Wilson. Both were married from 2000 to 2008. After a baby died early, the couple had twins and later triplets. The billionaire has two more children with singer Grimes.
Musk may have had a difficult childhood
In his childhood there should already have been a break in the family. After Musk’s parents divorced and young Elon moved in with his father, there were said to have been a few ugly years. Elon Musk has already indicated in interviews that he was subjected to psychological torture. However, the family does not give any more details about this time. Today he has a close relationship with his mother.
At the age of 17, the wonder boy finally moved from South Africa to Canada, where he also started his career. He ran Paypal, Starlink, SpaceX and Tesla, among others – and is now the richest man in the world.
