Entertainer: Thomas Gottschalk misses “room for spontaneity”

Thomas Gottschalk would like to see more lightness in today’s comedy landscape. He lacks a certain “necessity”.

In his own words, Thomas Gottschalk lacks the lightness and spontaneity of today’s comedy landscape.

“Clowns like Mike Krüger and I no longer exist,” said the 72-year-old to the magazine “Bunte” on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the “Supernasen” film series, with which he and Krüger celebrated great cinema success in the 80s.

“The fun that drove Mike Krüger and me for half a century is being lost more and more. Suddenly there is a weight of thought that is foreign to us. »

“Today, comedy is scripted and clocked through – without the courage to be rude and without room for spontaneity,” Gottschalk continues. “And people scold each other as moderators who can’t get a straight sentence out. I usually don’t get it, but at least it’s funny for me.”
