Together with his father Thomas, Roman Gottschalk answered questions from Frauke Ludowig on “Exclusive Weekend”. The separation of his parents was a shock for him, so Gottschalk junior. But he sees that his father is happy and doesn’t want to stand in his way.

“It was such a nice encounter with Thomas Gottschalk and his smart son Roman Gottschalk,” wrote the moderator afterwards. “Until now, Roman has never given an interview, today was his premiere for me! Thank you for trusting me, it was funny, entertaining but also serious.” After the interview, a feeling remained for her: “Father and son have an incredibly close bond, loving, happy, close!” Said the 58-year-old.
Gottschalk himself also spoke about the separation. He was forgiven for his late change, the entertainer said in an interview with “Bunte”: “After 40 years of marriage, I didn’t elope with my wife with a 28-year-old ballet dancer.” His new relationship with SWR employee Karina Mroß is “a life decision that I don’t regret a day,” said the 72-year-old.
In the same interview, Gottschlak also commented on the comedy scene – but not very flattering. “The fun that drove Mike Krüger and me for half a century is getting lost more and more.” A weight of thought sets in that is foreign to him and his colleague Krüger, Gottschalk continues. “Today, comedy is scripted and clocked through, without the courage to be rude and without room for spontaneity.” There just aren’t any more clowns like him and Krueger these days.
