For 16 years Sarah Connor has protected her daughter Summer from public view. Now that’s over.
When celebrities have children, they have a choice right from the start: they can show the offspring directly, or even post photos of the kids on social media. Or they keep the children’s faces secret and, in the best case, ensure that they have an undisturbed childhood, far from public view.
Sarah Connor shows her daughter Summer for the first time
Singer Sarah Connor and her ex-husband Marc Terenzi chose the latter. The couple kept their daughter Summer Terenzi – as well as their son Tyler – largely out of life in the limelight. But that came to an end with Summer Terenzi’s 16th birthday.
Connor has published several pictures of and with her daughter on Instagram. And the explanation for this was included: It was Summer’s wish to finally be able to be present on Instagram.
“You’ve been scratching your hooves for more than three years, finally – like your friends – to be able to dive into the social media world and from now on you can! I gotta be honest tho: I’m terrified,” writes the singer Posting (“I want to be honest, I’m scared”). She’s afraid, because “from now on you’re exposed to the looks and reviews that I’ve always protected you from. That’s quite a lot for a young woman. We’ve discussed it a hundred times and I think you’re ready,” explains Connor confidently .
Summer Terenzi wants to make music
The reason why Summer Terenzi will be all the more exposed to public opinion: she too wants to get started as a singer. “Your voice is just as beautiful as your soul. And I know I have to dress warmly because you’re looking at my stage,” writes her famous mother.
Similar to Sarah Connor, Heidi Klum acted almost a year and a half ago. She also hides the faces of her children from the German press, including that of her eldest daughter Leni. But Leni Klum has ambitions as a model, and so her game of hide-and-seek came to an end at the age of 16 when Heidi Klum and she graced the cover of German “Vogue” together.
In both cases, it’s probably more than an Instagram post – it’s a career start.
