Metallica have been donating to charity for many years through their All Within My Hands Foundation. Now the victims of the flood disaster should also receive support.
The US band Metallica wants to donate the proceeds from a new release of the cult song “Enter Sandman” to the victims of the flood disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia.
This was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the Universal Music record company of the German press agency. The collector’s item is scheduled to be released on August 20th. The music magazine “Rolling Stone” had previously reported.
As the Universal spokeswoman said, the proceeds from Metallica’s own foundation All Within My Hands are to be passed on in full to the victims of the flood disaster. For the 30th birthday of the heavy metal band’s so-called black album, various cover versions will be released, the proceeds of which, according to the foundation, will be used for charitable purposes.
According to Universal Music, the single for the flood victims will be released as a record and in two different CD formats.
