Katie Price: The model escaped from prison

Katie Price avoided jail time She had repeatedly insulted her ex-husband’s fiancee.

Katie Price (44) does not have to go to prison: instead, a court in Lewes, southern England, gave her social hours on Friday. The model has been accused of repeatedly harassing her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s current fiancée, 35, with insulting messages. In doing so, she violated a restraining order.

Price confessed that her lawyer argued that his client had mental health problems. The court apparently showed mercy: Price is spared a prison sentence. However, she now has to do 170 hours of social work and pay the equivalent of around 1,750 euros in court costs. She was given 20 hours of community service for another offence: she had also not complied with the conditions of a suspended sentence for a driving ban.

Price is barred from contacting her ex-husband’s fiancé, directly or indirectly. According to British media reports, a violation of the order could be punished with a prison sentence of up to five years.

“Incredibly disappointed” with the verdict

The injured party and her fiancé do not consider the verdict sufficient as it is in one. Accordingly, they were “incredibly disappointed” with the outcome of the court hearing. “We believe that, given the seriousness of Miss Price’s offence, a custodial sentence would have sent the right message to the public.”
