James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson have been honored with the Order of Knights CBE by Prince William.
Barbara Broccoli (62) and Michael Wilson (80) can now call themselves “Commander of the British Empire”. The duo, who have produced numerous “James Bond” films, were awarded the Order of Knights CBE by Prince William (40) in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Friday. Queen Elizabeth II (96) had already honored both in her New Year’s list for their services to film, drama, philanthropy and skills.
The CBE is the third level of the Order of Chivalry, with only a Knighthood and a Damehood above it. After that comes the OBE (“Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire”) and the MBE (“Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire”).
Still looking for the next James Bond
After the ceremony, Broccoli told a reporter that it was a “great honor” and that she was still looking for a replacement for Daniel Craig (54) as 007. Prince William would be “the ideal Bond,” Broccoli joked, “unfortunately he’s busy but he would be the perfect candidate.”
