Christian Bale: “I would play Batman again if Christopher Nolan directs”

“No. No one has ever mentioned it to me. No one has ever mentioned it,” Bale said when asked about returning to Batman. “Occasionally, people say to me, ‘Oh, I heard you were approached and offered all this.'” . And I’m like, ‘That’s news to me. No one has said that.'”

“He had a pact with Chris Nolan,” Bale added. “We said, ‘Hey, look. Let’s do three movies, if we’re lucky enough to do it. And then let’s go. Let’s not take too long. In my opinion, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I have another story to tell. And if he wanted to tell that story with me, he’d be in.

Together, Nolan and Bale redefined comic book movies with the approach started with “Batman Begins”. With the 2008 sequel “The Dark Knight”the duo delivered what many still consider to be the greatest superhero movie ever made.

Since Bale finished playing Batman, both Ben Affleck What Robert Pattinson They have assumed the role. The latter earned accolades earlier this year for “TheBatman”which grossed $770 million worldwide (much more than the $373 million for Bale’s debut “Batman Begins”).

“I have not seen it yet. I’ll see,” Bale recently told Variety about “The Batman.” “Listen, man, it’s amazing how few movies I see. All the directors I work with, I’ve seen a couple of his movies and they always look at me and say, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I really like to savor movies and I don’t watch too many. But I will, I certainly will.”

Bale added: “Robert is an absolutely wonderful actor. We met, talked about it a little bit ahead of time, and I heard wonderful things.”

The next step for Bale is a return to comic book movies thanks to his villainous role as Gorr the God Butcher in “Thor: Love and Thunder”which opens in theaters on July 7.
