Sabine Mayer takes on the role of the single parent Donna. The Lower Austrian is already known to the musical audience from previous seasons of “Mamma Mia!” known in Stuttgart and Berlin. During the cast presentation, Anna Thorén stood in for Sabine Mayer, who was ill. Thorén is also familiar with the role of Donna. The native Swede was already active in Berlin from 2019 to 2020 as an alternating cast of Donna and will take over this part again in Hamburg from autumn.

On November 3, 2002, the musical celebrated its German premiere on the Reeperbahn with hits like “Dancing Queen”, “Super Trouper” and “Mamma Mia”. According to Stage, 60 million people in 440 cities and in 16 different languages have now seen the musical about a turbulent mother-daughter relationship. It was also a hit on the big screen with stars like Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan.
