San Francisco, California, 1976. In keeping with his name, little Felonius Gru likes to commit little felonies. And he longs to be a super villain like his idols, six cursed subjects, so cursed that one day they eliminate his own boss because he is already old. But it has to be six. So, he applies for the vacancy. As they laugh in his face, he goes to show them what he is capable of. From that moment on, chases, losses, perfidies, fights and parodies follow one another, almost non-stop, at a frenetic pace. As this happens, we already said, in 1976, the parodies refer mostly to the fashion and music of that time, and to the blockbuster movies, basically super spies, martial arts and blaxploitation, those of African-American heroes like “Three against everyone”. Only here we are faced with an example of yellowploitation, with three minions willing to do anything to defend their miniboss.
