One of the most attractive genres of open-air culture is reliably in top form again in the cinema landscape of Upper Austria – the summer cinema. From Monday, more than 120 open-air screenings will be offered in stages, which will be implemented in partnership with Moviemento & City Kino Linz, Kino Freistadt, Citykino Steyr and Lichtspiele Lenzing (from July 4th for Vöcklabruck). These venues are supplemented by the Steininger traveling cinema, which plays in communal areas from Taufkirchen an der Pram to Waxenberg Castle and Bad Ischl.

The program is filled with long-awaited productions, such as the new Eberhofer thriller “Guglhupfgeschwader” (around August 4th in the summer cinema in Linz), the directed work “Corsage” about Empress Elisabeth, which was celebrated in Cannes (around July 7th in Vöcklabruck) and several previews of the third Monsieur Claude film and the third oö. Country thriller “To new shores” (page 6).

In Linz, from July 13, visitors will return to the city car park with a view of the Pöstlingberg (parking deck 14), in Freistadt’s old town, from August 12, they will be invited to the Salzgasse, in Steyr, among other things, to the moat of Lamberg Castle, where “Märzengrund”, the new film by Adrian Goiginger (“The Best of All Worlds”), has its preview on August 16th. The man from Salzburg also wants to spend the night in the Alpenvereinshütte on the Braunberg (Lasberg near Freistadt) when “Märzengrund” is shown at an altitude of 902 meters on August 10th. Proven dishes such as the culinary summer cinema from Moviemento and “Yellow Crocodile” are also served (Indian buffet for the film “The Light That Dreams Are Made of” on July 20, French on August 3 for “A la Carte”). Cinema with nostalgic value is available in Steyr from August 3rd: “Winnetou” (I, II, III). (nb)
