Prince Harry returns to England with the Netflix team

When Prince Harry returns to the UK for a weekend at the end of the year, he won’t come alone – a Netflix film crew will be with him. The British press is outraged.

The English tabloid press howls loudly again: Prince Harry is violating the privacy of his family, writes the “Daily Mail”. The “Sun” goes even further and accuses Meghan Markle’s husband of “sabotaging” Harry. What this media is so angry about: When the Duke of Sussex returns to his old homeland for a weekend at the end of the year, he will probably bring a film crew from Netflix with him. This is to film the preparation for the Invictus Games 2022 for a multi-part documentary series.

It is expected that Harry will be accompanied by a small film team “to give the public an insight into the hard work involved in planning these games,” a palace insider told the Daily Mail.

What gets the two newspapers going: Prince Harry is supposed to meet his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as part of his trip to England. Apparently, there are fears that the youngest son of Prince Charles and Diana could come with cameras. For the aristocracy expert Russell Myers a horror performance: “Imagine he is standing with a film crew in front of Buckingham Palace.”

Prince Harry is the patron of the Invictus Games

Last fall, it became known that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are filming “Heart of Invictus” with their own production company Archewell Productions for Netflix. Among other things, the format is intended to accompany several participants and the organizers in their preparations for the big event.

The Invictus Games are a Paralympic sporting event for war-disabled soldiers that Harry founded himself in 2014 and of which he is the patron. The last games should have taken place in 2020, because of the corona pandemic they have been postponed to 2022 and are to be played in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Should Prince Harry be successful in his efforts, then the whole world will be able to participate in the event via Netflix.
