In an interview with Vogue, Victoria Beckham revealed that her daughter Harper discovered old Spice Girls outfits. The 10-year-old wasn’t thrilled with her mother’s looks.
As a member of the Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham rose to international prominence in the mid-1990s. The Briton was nicknamed Posh Spice in the band, which means something like elegant or distinguished. Looking back, that wasn’t always the case when it came to her style of dressing. In an interview with Australian “Vogue”, Beckham now revealed that her daughter Harper recently discovered photos of her as a Spice Girl – and was horrified.
“She said to me, ‘Mom, I saw some pictures of you when you were in the Spice Girls and your skirts were just unacceptable. They were just too short.’ She was actually quite disgusted,” said the 48-year-old. Her husband David Beckham then also got involved in the discussion and agreed with his daughter. He said, “‘Absolutely, Harper! They really were.'” When asked by Victoria Beckham if she would wear skirts that short one day, Harper replied, ‘No way,’ the designer reported. “We will see.” She is not yet “one of those children who take to the streets with make-up and a crop top”. The youngest of the Beckham clan celebrates her eleventh birthday on July 10.

In the interview, Victoria Beckham also spoke about her own experiences with body shaming in the nineties and expressed fears that her daughter could experience something similar. “Harper isn’t on social media yet, so we don’t have to worry about that just yet. But when I see how cruel people can be, yeah, it really pisses me off [Sorgen]. She’s at that age where her body is starting to change, so we have to make sure that we communicate a lot as a family and that she surrounds herself with nice friends,” said the mother of four.
In general, it is not always easy for her that her children have chosen a life in public. Their eldest son Brooklyn has an online cooking show, Romeo, the middle one, models and plays soccer and the youngest son, Cruz, is aiming for a career in singing. “You want to support them and do what you can to help them, but it also makes you a little nervous because you really just want everyone to be nice to them and love what your kids are doing,” Beckham said .
