Just a few days ago, the announcer’s family suffered a severe blow due to the loss of Lilian Caldinithe mother of his two daughters Antonella and Ludmila. Norbert Palesebetter known as Cacho Fontana, became a benchmark in the media, with more than 50 years of experience.
Between April and May of last year, he had spent ten days in the same place as a result of a complication in his coronavirus picture. On that occasion, the announcer’s daughter had explained what the situation was that her father was going through. “Dad celebrated his birthday in good spirits.”
“A swab had been performed on April 20, which was negative. On Saturday afternoon-night he had to be transferred to the Fernández hospital. He has pneumonia. In July 2020, he had already contracted the virus for the first time when he was infected together with several colleagues, in the home where he lives. At that time he was hospitalized but his lungs never returned to the way they were before and some time later he had to be hospitalized for pneumonia.
Cacho Fontana part of the rich history of radio
Chub Fontana was born in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Barracas on April 23, 1932 and for many years was an announcer with a clear and unmistakable voice, an icon of the microphones from his radio debut in 1950 until the 1990s, when he began as an entertainer in the cabaret Chantecler, at 400 Paraná Street, headquarters of the orchestra of Juan D’Arienzoand also at the Tango Bar cafe.

Between 1955 and 1966 he was the emblematic voice of Radio El Mundo, then he joined Rivadavia and joined the team of Jose Maria Munoz Y Enzo Ardigo that recounted the World Cup in England, in which Argentina participated and was the last one that was broadcast only on the radio and not on television.
He had a singular success with “Fontana Show”issued by Rivadavia, which was broadcast for more than 15 seasons and a brilliant passage on television in “odol asks”between 1963 and 1973, among other milestones in a long career.
