Two months ago he celebrated his sixth birthday, now he is a school child: Alessio Lombardi-Engels, the son of singer Pietro Lombardi and his ex-wife Sarah Engels, started school. The proud parents shared photos and videos of the special day on Instagram. “It’s unbelievable how time flies,” commented the 28-year-old on a picture she showed next to a school blackboard. In addition, she held the school cone that she made with husband Julian into the camera.
Pietro Lombardi, who has been taking a break from social media for several weeks, made an exception for this special day and published a family photo together. “I wanted to share this moment with you during my break. It’s a very, very emotional day. We almost lost our little one after the birth and today is the first day of school, indescribable,” the 29-year-old commented on the picture.

He also made a promise to his son and made it clear that he and Engels would care for their child together despite their divorce. “We will always be there for you. Since you were born and forever – I swear it to you. On your first day of school, when you get your driver’s license, you start your first job or you get married at some point and give us grandchildren. It doesn’t matter whether you sad or happy: mom and dad will always be there for you, “wrote Lombardi.
Sarah Engels also shared her ex-husband’s post on her Instagram page. She also showed a video of Alessio wearing a school bag with a lion motif on his back. “I just barely slept and I’m as excited as a schnitzel,” confessed the singer. Schooling is a great day for everyone. “Now he’s going to school, now it’s getting serious.”
The son of Sarah Engels and Pietro Lombardi was born on June 19, 2015. The boy had to undergo an operation a few days after he was born because of a heart defect.
