The first NFT tokenized gin in the world is launched from Córdoba

This strategic and avant-garde move was already guessed at the beginning of the Alchemist Gin, when its creators and partners, Virginia Sahade, Gian Della Vedova and Fernando Lozadaassumed this motto as a banner: “Great drinks spark great ideas, great ideas become great projects.” It was enough for them to coincide with a gin & tonic in between with Marcos Lozada and José Romero Victorica, co-founders of Bircle, a company dedicated to tokenizing exclusive goods on the blockchain, for the synergy to be immediate.

Alquimista Gin, in constant innovation, sought to expand its horizons in this new digital age. Bircle, for his part, was eager to work alongside a premium brand that combined high-quality beverage, exclusive art and good times.

The result, pure magic in the form of a collection of 18 NFTs (non-fungible tokens) representing some 18 unique bottles of gin. Each of these bottles is a true, unique and unrepeatable work of art, intervened and signed by the Cordovan artist Manuel Coll.

The launch was on June 30 last. The venue for such an important event was the Alquimista Gin distillery, a true boutique gin preparation laboratory located in a large area planted with flowers of all colors, which they share with Campo de Flores, on the way to Río Ceballos, Córdoba. In the midst of a gin tasting, good gastronomy and a particular multicolored landscape, they presented the “First Gin of the Metaverse”.

As far as the spirit drink is concerned, “the alchemists” designed a secret formula for this collection that especially distinguishes this batch of Alquimista Gin from the others, further highlighting its premium and exclusive profile.

In this case, the 18 NFTs are a limited edition of collectible bottles unique in their composition and design. Each bottle tells a different story that gives rise to its existence and reason for being.

Blockchain technology makes the connection between the real and the digital, and gives life to this unprecedented concept of 18 real Alquimista Gin bottles with its version of 18 NFTs in the virtual ecosystem. This means that each bottle has existence both in the physical world and in the digital world. Each bottle is an NFT. NFTs, based on blockchain technology, act as unique identifiers that represent individual and unrepeatable assets and that function as certificates of authenticity. In addition, they allow granting uniqueness, digital scarcity (they cannot be copied) and property rights over digital objects.

Last year was a huge success for the NFT market. They generated a transactional volume of US$41 billion, mainly in digital works of art.

The alliance between Bircle and Alchemist Gin is a pioneer in the world. NFTs have been functioning predominantly to represent digital intangible assets. Bircle manages to connect the intangible with the tangible. Using blockchain technology and the Internet of Things (IoT), the physical world is linked to the digital world through the tokenization process.

Thus, each bottle of Alquimista Gin is not only a work of art in the real world but also has a 3D digital twin, resulting in a new type of “phygical” good, that is, physical-digital.

The added value is immense. By simply bringing a smartphone close to the bottle, it is possible to verify their authenticity, ownership, traceability, transparency, opening new channels of communication and sale. In turn, the buyer gains access to endless digital and real experiences. derived from membership and belonging to a select group of buyers of collectibles. For example, access to exclusive visits to the distillery, unique events, special promotions, priority access to new collections, among other new experiences that are unlocked in this stronger link between premium item brands and buyers, facilitated by the benefits of the new technologies.
