I sewed my piace

This Italian canteen, with lots of good pasta from the nonna, makes a Roman-style pizza. It is baked on stone, in a wood oven, an intermediate point between the voluptuous Neapolitan and the finite versions of some areas of Italy.

Inaugurated in 2016, some of the most recommended are the Carbonara, with slices of potato, bacon, egg, mozzarella and pecorino cheese; the Capricciosa, with Portobello mushrooms, artichokes and Italian raw ham; and the Puttanesca, with tomato sauce, mozzarella, hot pepper, anchovies, capers and black olives.

The Champions

It all started in 1954 when four friends started planning to open a pizzeria. They were fanatical soccer fans and, therefore, they thought of a name that all soccer fans would agree on. The Champions became an institution in Barracas. Their pizza is handcrafted and baked over quebracho firewood. But, if you like the mold, we advise you to request it that way. It’s also worth it.

Piola

Dante and Stefano Carniato brought their pizzeria model to the City from Treviso, Italy. Thus, in 1993, they opened Piola and in the Retiro neighborhood a 100% Italian pizza was offered for the first time. Time passed and Piola became a classic. Its thin-crust pizzas, seasoned with typically Italian ingredients, continue to cook in the wood-fired oven. They have 60 varieties available and the ideal closing is with the house tiramisu.

Albamonte Pizzeria

Antonio Iannone was born in the Italian region of Campania, whose capital is Naples, the birthplace of pizza. There he learned from his uncle Giuseppe the art of kneading water, flour and yeast. The residents of the town lined up in front of the family business to buy the pizzas at home.

With that knowledge under their arms, Antonio and Giuseppe took the ship to “make America” and arrived in Argentina. In 1958, Antonio opened his restaurant in the City and Albamonte was born. He did not forget to include a wood-fired oven, an essential ally for making stone-baked pizzas.
