Even in front of the TV sets, the race was a success in terms of ratings: a total of 940,000 people took part via television, the market share (MA) was 58 percent.

The race was shown on both ORF and Servus TV. As in the previous year, the public broadcaster clearly prevailed. 757,000 people (market share 47 percent) chose the race commentated by Ernst Hausleitner and Alexander Wurz on ORF (last year there were 677,000 viewers, MA 46 percent).

183,000 people watched the race via Servus TV (Andreas Gröbl/Nico Hülkenberg, Mathias Lauda) (market share 11.4 percent). The Salzburg private broadcaster is also happy about an increase compared to the previous year (112,000, 7.6 percent). Servus also reports 330,500 views via “Servus TV On”.

Football: 200,000 at prime time

With the exception of Austria’s game against England (625,000/MA 25 percent), the European Women’s Football Championship in England is far from able to keep up with these values. Around 200,000 viewers watched the France vs. Italy game on ORF television. The market share only made it to nine percent – a very low value considering the prime time. Around 180,000 people watched the previous evening’s game between Belgium and Iceland.
