In the 1950s, the Everly Brothers were absolute superstars. Together with his brother Philip, who died in 2014, Don Everly wrote numerous rock ‘n’ roll hits and thus music history. According to his family, Don has now also died. The American was 84 years old.
Like the relatives of the musician, he died on Saturday, August 21, at his home in Nashville, Tennessee. Everly’s family did not comment on the cause of death. “Don lived the way he felt in his heart,” the statement said. The star appreciated being able to “live his dreams” and “share the music that made him an Everly Brother”.
As The Everly Brothers, Don and Philip Everly even inspired the Beatles
The brothers Don and Philip, who became big stars of the music scene thanks to their harmonies and even inspired artists like the Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel, separated in 1973, but reunited after ten years. Besides “All I Have To Do Is Dream”, her biggest hits include “Wake Up Little Susie” and “Crying in the Rain”.
