Today, an exhibition like this simply could not take place, since the exorbitant prices that the works have reached would have a direct impact on insurance and transport costs. The 200 paintings projected in the exhibition are part of prestigious collections of museums such as the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, the National Gallery of Art in London, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. An impressive selection that simply could not physically coincide in the same place and at the same time.
