Karven: Those are your weak moments

Karven: Those are your weak moments

The Christmas goose, macarons or luxury handbags – vegan celebrities get weak at these moments. Can you resist the temptation?

Anyone who lives vegan does without everything that is fun. Is that correct? “Of course there are temptations, the obligatory duck or goose at Christmas or when I see sushi,” says actress Ursula Karven (57) of the news agency spot on news on the sidelines of the “Giulia and Romeo” fashion show in Munich. “But I couldn’t eat that anymore because I know what was done to the animals. I have to talk myself into it, but I won’t get weak.”

Actress Claudelle Deckert (48), on the other hand, has “zero weak moments”, as she says: “My body has changed in such a way that I just don’t have this craving anymore, I’m back the way God created me.” Living the vegan lifestyle in all areas, such as fashion, is a “step-by-step” process for her. Model Marie von den Benken (33) still gives in to the temptation “once or twice a year at most”: “When I’m in Paris because I love the macarons from the patisseries there so much.” But she admits that the transition to a vegan lifestyle didn’t go smoothly: “In the beginning, it happened to me that I ordered spaghetti bolognese in the restaurant and thought: ‘Oh crap, there’s meat in it!'” And even the vegan one Nutritionist Niko Rittenau (31) is sometimes tempted: “I’ve been vegan for almost ten years, but of course you always dream of Parmesan.”

“There are still not enough nice shoes, bags and clothes”

Designer Daniela Brunner, who is presenting her new vegan collection this evening, realized early on what she was missing on the vegan market: luxury goods such as handbags, shoes or clothing that no animal had to suffer for. “It’s hard for me to do without it. Because there are still not enough nice shoes, bags and clothes, I knew: I have to do it myself.” But the designer doesn’t just want to appeal to vegan women with her brand: “Giulia and Romeo is for women who love luxury brands and high-end fashion. You don’t have to be vegan, but that’s how we create additional awareness for vegan life. ” This is also a ray of hope for ex-“Bunte” editor-in-chief Patricia Riekel (73): “I don’t buy down jackets and leather. But I still find it a bit difficult with clothes.”

Celebrity show running on the Praterinsel

Also at the event on Munich’s Praterinsel were the artists Tim Bengel (30) and Mauro Bergonzoli (57) with his wife Franziska Countess Fugger-Babenhausen (43), Nadja zu Schaumburg-Lippe (47) and Jenny Jürgens (55), Adrian Can (50) as well as Vanessa Eichholz (33), Funda Vanroy (45) and Anna von Bismarck present. In addition to Marie von den Benken, model Marie Amière (45) also walked the catwalk.
