The Austrian Music Theater Prize is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. The industry will meet in Grafenegg on September 13th. The Vienna State Opera can have high hopes for this gala, leading the field with a total of ten nominations.
The Linzer Landestheater hopes for two honors. Russian soprano Ilona Revolskaya is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Giulietta in I Capuleti ei Montecchi, Vincenzo Bellini’s bel canto version of the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet. Mezzo-soprano Katherine Lerner can hope for an award in the category “Best Female Supporting Role” for her performance in “Twice Through The Heart”.
