Jak Knight: The stand-up comedian has died

Jak Knight started his career as a comedian, screenwriter and actor. He has now died at the age of 28.

The actor, stand-up comedian and screenwriter Jak Knight is dead. This is reported, among other things, citing a statement from his family. Accordingly, the 28-year-old died last Thursday, July 14. The cause of death is not known.

Knight was making a name for himself as a screenwriter and comedian before his death and had just landed his first major acting roles. In recent years he has worked, among other things, as a writer and producer for the Netflix series “Big Mouth” and has been writing screenplays for the hit series “Black-ish” since 2019.

For the US series “Bust Down” and “Pause with Sam Jay”, which were released this year, he not only worked as a screenwriter, but also stood in front of the camera as an actor. Just a few days ago, the industry magazine “Deadline” also announced that Knight will be seen in Chelsea Peretti’s (44, “Brooklyn Nine Nine”) directorial debut “First Time Female Director”.

Industry says goodbye to multi-talent

In addition, the Seattle-born all-rounder has made a name for himself as a stand-up comedian in recent years. Knight has regularly toured the United States with his program and appeared on the Netflix special The Comedy Lineup.

Numerous comedians and companions of Knight expressed their grief over the entertainer’s untimely death on social media. The US broadcaster Comedy Central posted a photo of the 28-year-old and wrote: “Jak Knight was an incredibly funny and honest comedian. We will miss him enormously.” Comedian Eddie Della Siepe (44) called Knight “a phenomenon, an incredible talent, but above all a great guy”.
