Before the “Jedermann” call resounds over the Salzburg Cathedral Square (or through the Festspielhaus in bad weather) from Monday, one question above all arises among theater fans: What does the paramour contribute to the death of the rich man this year? The well-kept fashion secret was revealed on Saturday evening. And the answer is: Red like last year, but stronger.
After all, Verena Altenberger has blonde hair in her second year of love – and so the tone of her semi-transparent pants suit has changed towards fuchsia, explained Renate Martin to the media, who has been responsible for the “Jedermann” costumes since 2017. The second dress of the playmate is pink and is combined with a red T-shirt made of fine stretch material.
A fabric for the paramour’s robes was found in Italy, while the red one came from Berlin, as costume director Jan Meier summed up the extensive search for the right linen: “It’s a fabric that has even more lightness and transparency, it’s very special This year’s red has been specially colored.”
15 meters of fabric were processed – which took time. According to Meier, more than 60 hours of work went into each of the two dresses.
