Young talents on dance paths in Ohlsdorf

We are talking about the Upper Austrian Sinfonietta (UAS), which will be performed on Friday under the experienced direction of Peter Aigner performed at the MEZZO Ohlsdorf as part of the Salzkammergut Festival. The program focused entirely on ballet music by Léo Delibes, namely suites from “Coppélia” and “Sylvia”, as well as fine dances from the opera “Lakmé”.

Challenging are the change of mood and the many solo passages, which were mastered admirably. Another aspect of this concert project is the presentation of young soloists. In this case two wind players: First, Hannah Mair inspired with the C major Concerto per flautino and strings RV 444. She not only played the cantilenas of the middle movement brilliantly, but above all the nimble tone cascades, which require enormous finger acrobatics. Darius Milhaud also demands this in his “Scaramouche” (version for saxophone and orchestra), in which Clara Donat was the clever interpreter. Since Milhaud’s music doesn’t always take itself seriously, one has to find the middle ground between virtuosity and free musical whimsy. Clara Donat did an excellent job of that. She carried the audience away with the final samba sounds.
