After sharing his diagnosis on Instagram on June 10, Bieber postponed his early June dates in Washington, D.C., Toronto, and New York City, then moved on with the rest of the North American leg of the tour.
At that time Bieber shared a video on his social networks where he showed the effects of Ramsay Hunt syndrome, caused by a rare virus that affects the nerves of the face and causes facial paralysis.
“As you can see, this eye does not blink. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So there is total paralysis of this side of my face,” explained the singer, who added: “For those who are frustrated by the cancellations of my upcoming shows, I am simply physically unable to give them. This is quite serious, as you can see.”
