Kate Moss on Johnny Depp’s trial: She had to tell the “truth”.

Kate Moss testified against Amber Heard in Johnny Depp’s defamation trial. “I had to tell the truth,” explains the model.

Kate Moss (48) and Johnny Depp (59) were a couple for four years in the 90s. At Depp’s defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard (36), the model testified under oath in May. Moss contradicted the actress’ claim that the Hollywood star pushed her down the stairs during their relationship. “I know the truth about Johnny,” Moss now told BBC Radio 4. “I know he never pushed me down the stairs. I had to tell the truth.”

In general, Moss “believes in truth and I believe in fairness and justice”. The Brit also stood by the designer John Galliano (61) when he was convicted of racist abuse in 2011. “I know that John Galliano is not a bad person – he had a drinking problem and people change.” Most people are not themselves when they drink. “They say things that they would never say sober,” Moss explained.

Kate Moss describes scary situation

Moss also spoke of a scary situation she experienced as a young model. She met a man who wanted to photograph her for a bra catalogue. “I was probably only 15 and he said, ‘Take your top off,'” Moss says. “I took off my top, I was very shy about my body at the time, and he said, ‘Take off your bra.'” But she felt something was wrong. “So I grabbed my stuff and ran away.”

Moss was discovered by a model scout at the age of 14. In the 90s she was one of the most sought-after faces in the fashion industry. In 1992, Moss shot her first major ad campaign for Calvin Klein alongside Mark Wahlberg (51). However, the British woman does not have good memories of the recordings. Before the shoot, she suffered from anxiety and was even prescribed Valium to get through it all. Moss felt “vulnerable and scared” going topless.

Daughter Lila Moss (19) is also a model today. The 48-year-old gave her offspring one piece of advice: “If you don’t want to do this shoot, if you don’t feel comfortable, if you don’t want to model, then don’t do it.”
