White Noise has Adam Driver like a teacher in the midwest going through a very dramatic year. Based on the acclaimed novel by Don DeLillo 1985—the first time Baumbach hasn’t worked from his own original idea—the film’s co-star Greta Gerwig, Andre Benjamin, Alessandro Nivola, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Don Cheadle.

Baumbach adapted DeLillo’s novel for the screen and produced White Noise with David Heyman Y uri singer.

“It is a great honor to open the 79th Venice Film Festival with White Noise,” said the artistic director of the festival, Alberto Barbera. “Adapted from the great novel by Don DeLillo, Baumbach has created an original, ambitious and compelling work of art that plays sparingly across multiple registers: dramatic, tongue-in-cheek, satirical. The result is a film that examines our obsessions, doubts and fears as they were captured in the 1980s, but with very clear references to contemporary reality.”
