Mercedes Sosa: photographic exhibition can be seen for free at the Borges Cultural Center

Argentina, Latin American and universal, from early Haydee Mercedes Sosaborn in San Miguel de Tucumán on July 9, 1935, knew she was the owner of the gift of singing and that awareness was always more responsibility than enjoyment

“No artist – Mercedes sentenced – is only an artist because he sings well. Singing carries within culture, readings, so many people to whom I owe everything I have, sculptors, painters, artists who have been leading me in this way by which I feel this way of singing”.

This is how she assumed the office of singer mercedes sosawho died at the age of 74, on October 4, 2009 as a result of renal dysfunction.

Mastropasqua began his career as a plastic artist, then worked in favor of the dissemination of the local culture of Mar del Plata as a manager and administrator, in addition to founding vital spaces.

He was the creator of the School of Visual Arts, the School of Contemporary Thought, the University Cinema and the cultural department of the UCIP, as well as a programmer for the Diagonal theater.

Photography was also his great passion: he worked in important graphic media, and portrayed important artists such as the great singer from Tucumán, the Indio Solari, Astor Piazzolla and Juan Carlos Castagnino.

The exhibition takes place from Wednesday to Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with free admission at the Buenos Aires cultural center located at Viamonte 525.
