In a new interview, actress Alicia Vikander reveals she was unhappy at the height of her career.
Alicia Vikander (33) remembers dark times. the actress revealed that she was “the saddest” at the peak of her career. “I’ve always said to myself, ‘Record it. It’s incredible.’ But I didn’t know what to do. There were all these first-class flights, five-star rooms. But I was always alone. I was alone,” Vikander said.
The Swedish actress had her breakthrough role in the Oscar-nominated film ‘The Queen and the Physician’ (2012). The sci-fi thriller “Ex Machina” (2014) and the drama “The Danish Girl” (2015) made her a star. She even won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the latter.
Vikander talks about her miscarriage
In 2015 it was reported that Vikander and her partner and co-star Michael Fassbender (45) had split up. The two are now married and have a child. “We have a child now, but it took us time,” said the actress. She co-directed a film about miscarriage with Fassbender, The Light Between Oceans (2016). The film has a “different meaning” for her today. “It was so extreme, painful to go through and of course it reminded me of the movie,” Vikander said, recalling her own miscarriage.
