This year’s festival season in Bayreuth opened with prominent figures from politics and the entertainment industry. Among the guests on the Green Hill was former Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU), who recycled an outfit from 2019 for her appearance. From the top and skirt, to the pearl necklace and the bag to the beige shoes, Merkel wore the identical outfit 1:1.
Presenter Thomas Gottschalk is also one of the regular guests at the Bayreuth Festival. For years he came with his former wife Thea and the two drew everyone’s attention with their flashy outfits. This time he had his new partner Karina Mroß with him. They also coordinated their looks: wine red, gold and glitter.
In contrast, members of the current federal government had hardly traveled to Bayreuth in view of the tense political situation. There are currently many more urgent dates than the opening of a festival season.
