Tony Dow has passed away. The American actor and director was 77 years old. He is best known for playing Wally Cleaver on the sitcom Grow Up. Dow died on Wednesday (July 27), according to his manager Frank Bilotta, citing Dow’s son Christopher.
Christopher Dow said in the statement, shared by Tony Dow: “While this is a very sad day, I have the comfort and peace that he is in a better place. He was the best father anyone could ask for. He was my coach, my mentor, my voice of reason, my best friend, my best man at my wedding and my hero”.
The news comes just a day after a false report was made about the actor’s death. Dow announced in May that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He leaves behind his wife and two children.
