Bob Dylan’s abuse lawsuit surprisingly dropped

Bob Dylan will not face trial for sexually abusing a minor. The lawsuit was withdrawn.

The controversial lawsuit against Bob Dylan (81) for sexual abuse of a minor has been withdrawn and is therefore off the table. citing the singer-songwriter’s attorneys. A woman, now 69, previously claimed Dylan molested her in 1965 when she was a 12-year-old girl in New York City. Only a few days ago it became known that the previous prosecutor had fired her lawyers in the midst of preparations for a possible trial.

Even Dylan historians found inconsistencies

Shortly after the allegations became known, Dylan historians immediately argued that the musician was on tour in Great Britain until at least May 10, 1965 and that the specific allegations could not be correct for that reason alone. The lawsuit was then amended and the time of the crime was brought forward. Dylan’s lawyers dismissed the allegations as “ridiculous greed by a psychic” who had already claimed to have been abducted by an alien. It was brazen blackmail under the guise of a lawsuit.

The allegations are false, malicious, inconsiderate and defamatory. In a new statement on the current dismissal of the lawsuit, Dylan’s attorney, Orin Snyder, said almost reconcilingly, “This case is over. It is outrageous that it was brought at all. We are pleased that the plaintiff has dropped this attorney-sponsored deception and that the case was dismissed without prejudice.”
