We’ll be singing with a view again next year

The seventh station of “Singing with a View” leads to the mighty Piberstein Castle in Helfenberg on Sunday at 4 p.m. This open singing in a scenic setting, which OÖN is offering together with the choir association for the first time this year, has quickly become a successful format. Hundreds of singers have made pilgrimages to the events so far. “The feedback from the guests is consistently enthusiastic. A couple from Linz has already visited four singings,” says Harald Wurmsdobler happily. The President of the Upper Austria Choir Association wants to continue the campaign next year, then again with the song brochures specially printed for “Singen mit Aussicht” by Trauner Verlag, which will be distributed free of charge during the singing.

Evelyn Haselmayr will lead the singing. The music teacher at the Hamerling-Gymnasium in Linz works in the choir association as a youth officer for the Mühlviertel and directs the “Melodists” choir in her home town of Niederwaldkirchen. Haselmayr is already looking forward to her baptism of fire as a “Vorsingerin”: “I will create the program more traditionally, but also offer modern songs.” But she also likes to respond to calls from the audience. Haselmayr is supported by singers and musicians from Niederwaldkirchen.

Admission is free, catering is provided. If you don’t just want to sing, but also want to be physically active, we recommend a hike from the center of Helfenberg to the castle (duration around 30 minutes).

“Singing with a view”: Sunday, August 7, 4 p.m.: Piberstein Castle, 4184 Helfenberg. Further stations lead to Trattenbach (Ternberg) on August 20th and to the Gasthaus Brandner in Hartkirchen on September 11th.
