The special effects supervisor at Rodeo FX, Julien Hery revealed that one of those shots took almost two years to complete. In an interview with Collider, he told a “curious fact” related to the production of this season started before the pandemic: “Before that time we had already started developing and working on some of the visuals. But when we had to stop due to the pandemic, we still work on one or two takes.”
Hery referred especially to an “aerial plane over Hawkins landing over the Creel House”fundamental scenario for the plot of the fourth season. “That shot took us a year and a half or two years. in which we were retouching the animation taking advantage of the fact that we had so much time to develop it. It was really cool to do it like that,” explained the special effects artist.
As the scale of the series grows, so have the times between seasons. While between the first two there was only one year and between the second and third there was a year and a half, Two and a half years passed until the fourth season, partly because of the pandemic.
Even so, the fourth season of Stranger Things was a huge success for Netflix. Even analysts believe that saved the platform from a further drop in subscribers in the last months.
