Olivia Wilde has now broken her silence after being served custody documents from her ex live on stage in April.
Is there a bitter custody battle in court between Olivia Wilde (38) and her ex-partner Jason Sudeikis (46)? The actress first commented on the situation when she received her custody papers live and in public on the stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April. “Jason’s actions were clearly designed to threaten and take me by surprise,” Wilde said in court documents.
“He would have me [den Antrag] discreetly, but instead he chose to send it to me [den Antrag] in the most aggressive way,” said the American-Irish actress. Her ex-partner would embarrass her “professionally,” which is “blatantly contrary to the well-being of our children.”
Custody records delivered live on stage
However, Sudeikis is said not to have known that Wilde would be served the legal papers in this public manner. “Mr Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place the envelope would be delivered as that depended solely on the delivery company involved and he would never have tolerated it being delivered in such an inappropriate manner,” said one Source.
Wilde took the stage live at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in late April to present her new film Don’t Worry Darling. There she was given a large, yellow envelope on which the words “personal and confidential” could be read. Wilde opened the letter, believing it might be a script. Ultimately, however, it was Sudeikis’ custody documents.
Sudeikis requested sole custody
Since their split in 2020, Wilde and Sudeikis are said to have shared custody of their two children, Otis, 8, and Daisy, 5. However, since they live in different cities, they are said to have recently been unable to agree on where their children should primarily be raised. Wilde is also said to be planning to move to London to join her current partner Harry Styles, 28, in the coming year. Sudeikis is said to have made a new application for custody. According to “Mail Online” this has been rejected.
Wilde and Sudeikis have been a couple since 2011 and engaged since 2013. In November 2020, the two announced their separation.
