A trailer, released Wednesday by Discovery, includes two of Hammer’s alleged victims giving on-camera interviews and sharing screenshots of messages and audio of voice memos they claim to have received from the actor.
“My bet was going to involve showing up at your house and tying you down completely and incapacitating you and being able to do what I wanted with every hole in your body until I was done with you,” reads one of the messages.
The docuseries also shows a message in which Hammer allegedly wrote to a woman that he is “100% cannibalistic” and a handwritten note that reads, “I’m going to bite you.”
The documentary was produced in conjunction with Casey Hammerwho is the aunt of Armie Hammer and granddaughter of Armand Hammerthe businessman who made the family fortune in the oil business.
“I’m about to reveal the dark and twisted secrets of the Hammer family,” Casey says in the trailer.
The Hammer Family Story
The recent controversy that grabbed the headlines of Armie Hammer is not the only one affecting the remarkable family. In 1920, the actor’s great-great-grandfather, Julius Hammer, was convicted of first-degree manslaughter after a jury found him guilty when the wife of a Russian diplomat on whom he miscarried died. In 1955, Julian Hammerthe son of Armand Hammerkilled a man inside his Los Angeles home over a gambling debt, but claimed self-defense and the charges were dismissed.
In 2015, Casey Hammer published a book, “Surviving My Birthright,” in which she alleges that her father, Julian, sexually abused her as a child.
As for Armie, the actor’s fall from grace came during the pandemic when alleged messages he had sent to women surfaced on social media and then became an ongoing story in the media.
He was first accused of sexual abuse in early 2021 via screenshots of messages allegedly describing his cannibalistic fetishes. A woman, represented by the lawyer Gloria Allredaccused Hammer of rape, prompting the LAPD to conduct an investigation.
Hammer has strongly denied all allegations of sexual abuse, stating that all interactions with the women were consensual.
The allegations sent Hammer’s Hollywood career into a tailspin and the actor was dropped from his agency, WME, after being dropped from a number of projects, including the romantic comedy Jennifer Lopez, “Shotgun Wedding”; the thriller “Billion Dollar Spy”; broadway play, “The Minutes”; and the Paramount Plus series “The Offer” about the making of “The Godfather”.
Hammer, who rose to fame with “The Social Network” Y “Call Me By Your Name”recently appeared on “Death on the Nile” of Disneywhich finished shooting before the scandal.
