Now, a judge in Moscow dismissed the lawsuit that eOne presented in that country, according to a statement from Sconnect. The case in the UK is still in court.
The message from the Vietnamese company, owner of multiple children’s channels on YouTube, said that the Moscow City Court rejected the indictment from eOne about “the protection of exclusive rights to the animated series ‘Svinka Peppa’ (as Peppa Pig is known in Russia). By this definition it is concluded that there was no infringement of intellectual property rights by the characters of ‘Wolfoo’ against those of ‘Peppa Pig'”. They even point out that under Russian law, eOne cannot bring this lawsuit against Sconnect again in the future.
