Booming beats echo through Zurich. And hundreds of thousands dance to it.
After two Corona breaks, Zurich reported back on Saturday as the location of one of the biggest techno parties in the world.
Under the motto “Think!” several hundred thousand visitors from Switzerland and abroad were expected to attend the 29th Street Parade. The organizing committee writes that only those who think can confirm, tick off or readjust their actions and prejudices.
In the early afternoon, the first of the 25 or so Love Mobiles – colorfully decorated trucks with large music systems and dancers – set off on their two-kilometer tour around the lake basin in the best summer weather. The people on the side of the road danced in the best of moods to the booming beats.
DJs will play electronic music on eight stages along the route in the Swiss metropolis, which is otherwise primarily known as a location for banks and insurance companies. The festival is officially scheduled to last until midnight.
Numerous buses and trains from abroad had already arrived in Zurich in the morning to bring the techno fans to the party. Around 850,000 people took part in the last parade before the corona pandemic in 2019.
