Anne Heche: Ex-husband publishes emotional message

Anne Heche’s devices were turned off on Sunday after the actress’ organs could be sent to various recipients. Now her ex-husband has spoken out.

Hollywood mourns the loss of actress Anne Heche. After her serious car accident, the 53-year-old was declared brain dead at the end of last week, and the doctors switched off all devices on Sunday. Previously, recipients for Heche’s organs had been sought. The actress herself decided during her lifetime that she wanted to donate it. Heche leaves behind two children, their sons Homer and Atlas.

Anne Heche: ex-husband says goodbye

Homer’s father is cinematographer Coleman “Coley” Laffoon, to whom Heche was married between 2001 and 2009. He has now published a video on Instagram in which he expresses himself emotionally. “After Anne’s death, I just wanted to say a few things: First, I love and miss her and I always will. Second, Homer is fine,” he says. “He’s grieving, of course, and it’s hard, really hard, as anyone can probably imagine,” he said. “But he’s surrounded by his family and he’ll be fine.”

Laffoon only finds positive words about his ex-wife. “Anne is free from pain (…). She was brave and fearless, loved very much and was never afraid to tell us what she thinks and what she believes in,” he says and says goodbye to Heche: “Everything turned um love so goodbye Anne. I love you and thank you for the good times of which there was so much. And in the meantime I have our son and he will be fine.”

She leaves behind two sons

The father of Heche’s other son, James Tupper, also spoke out, saying he would love her forever. Just over a week ago, Heche crashed into a building at high speed, which then caught fire, as did her vehicle. A few days later it was announced that Heche had suffered massive brain damage and was in a coma in a clinic. On Friday, her spokesman confirmed numerous media reports that Heche was already brain dead and was only being kept alive by machines.
