Set in the universe of JRR Tolkien’s booksthousands of years before the events of the famous movie trilogythe series must take place over five seasons of ten episodes each.
The American accompanied the cast of actors and directors at the premiere in the Culver Studios of California Monday night, where the first two episodes were screened before a light show performed by dozens of illuminated drones.
Executive producer Lindsey Weber said cost is a “very flashy headline that people like to talk about”, but promised viewers “will see that the money is on the screen”.
Speaking on the red carpet, Weber indicated that the budget is due to “starting up five seasons.” “If you look at what it costs to make a blockbuster movie, we’re a bargain by comparison”he added.

“The Rings of Power” is set 4,000 years before the story of the original trilogy and booksin a fictional Second Age of Middle-earth outlined in less detail in Tolkien’s creations.
The production has a wide cast of actors, not well known to the international audience.

“It’s an epic adventure story, with universal themes, and a true labor of love. We’ve all worked so hard on it and I just hope people enjoy it,” Aramayo said at Monday’s premiere.
“They’ve built a city, with a dock and boats floating on it. It’s amazing and very, very incredible to get to act on some of these sets,” he added.
