Shortly after the corona confusion surrounding US President Joe Biden, the First Lady, Jill Biden, has now also tested positive.
Now Jill Biden (71) has also got it: The wife of US President Joe Biden (79) has tested positive for the corona virus. The White House confirmed this in a statement. A spokeswoman explains that Jill Biden developed the first cold symptoms last Monday evening. A quick test was initially negative, “but a PCR test was positive,” the statement said.
The First Lady was vaccinated twice, boosted twice and therefore only had “mild symptoms”. Like her husband, she was also prescribed the drug Paxlovid, which is intended to reduce the risk of a severe course. Biden will now spend at least five days in isolation in a private home in South Carolina and will only “return home after two consecutive negative Covid tests”.
Joe Biden out of isolation for a week
Just about a week ago, US President Joe Biden left his isolation after being reinfected with the corona virus. The 79-year-old first tested positive on July 21. Shortly after his recovery, Biden was infected again at the end of July.
