The music world mourns the loss of Darius Campbell Danesh (1980-2022): The former “Pop Idol” contestant was found dead in his home in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11. Darius Campbell Danesh was born in 1980 in Glasgow, Scotland. He rose to fame in 2001 after competing in the UK’s Popstars talent competition. The following year he made it to the finals of the first season of the TV talent show “Pop Idol” – the British equivalent of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” – and finished third.

In 2002, his debut single “Colourblind” was released, which made it to number one in the UK singles chart. In the same year his first album “Dive In” was released, in 2004 he released his second record “Live Twice”. In 2010 he appeared on the show “Popstar to Operastar”.
In 2011, the native of Scotland married the actress Natasha Henstridge (48). The two split in 2018.
