Almost twenty years after her book was first published, the prices of “Call Me Crazy” have skyrocketed. The actress Anne Heche, who died at the beginning of August, processed her “crazy life” in it.
Anne Heche wrote her memoirs more than twenty years ago. The book entitled “Call me Crazy” was published in 2001 and the actress explained the choice for this particular title with a decades-long struggle against herself: “I’m not crazy, but I grew up in a crazy family. It has 31 years it took me a while to get that out of me”. The prices for her book are now increasing inexorably after her death.
Ellen DeGeneres’ ex-girlfriend died in a car accident in August. She drove her car into an apartment building in Los Angeles. The car and house caught fire. Heche was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but a few days later she was declared brain dead and the equipment was turned off. The cause of the accident is not yet known. There is speculation about drug use. The local authorities are said to have already completed their investigation. The actress’ accidental death leaves many unanswered questions that fans seem to be trying to find answers in Anne Heche’s memoir.
Due to the increasing demand for books, the price on the open market has climbed massively in recent days. Normally the price for the title “Call me Crazy” was around 25 euros for the bound edition. But in the past few days after her death, an increase to 200 euros, then to 500 euros and now even to be recorded. Of course, the price on this platform also depends on the seller, but the demand seems to make up for the horrendous amounts.
Anne Heche’s book even contains details on the abuse
In Anne Heche’s biography, she deals with a terrible childhood, among other things. Marked by rape and abuse at home by her own father. So she wrote about the sometimes worst moments of her life: “My father put me on all fours and had sex with me”. Heche called the day when she was 13 years old and her father died of HIV a lucky day. The memoirs shed light on a life that was marked by many setbacks, by deaths, like that of her brother when he was 18 years old and also died in a car accident or that of her sister ten years later of cancer. Drug consumption, an unhealthy life, sexual compensation and much more were the consequences for Anne Heche. It seemed as if she had successfully fought and defeated many of them, but her apparently self-inflicted accidental death once again raises questions about her mental state.
