The US actor is avoiding public events for the time being. Such events would increase his anxiety attacks, Jonah Hill wrote in an open letter.
The US actor and director Jonah Hill (38) no longer wants to promote his next film “Stutz” and other upcoming projects at public events. He shared this with several US industry media in a public letter.
“Stutz” is a documentary about himself and his therapist, Hill wrote. The purpose of the film is to make his therapy and the tools he learned in therapy accessible to a wide audience for private use through an entertaining film.
“Through the journey of self-discovery in film, I’ve come to realize that I’ve suffered from anxiety attacks for almost 20 years, compounded by media appearances and high-profile events,” Hill continued. He is grateful that the film will premiere at a festival in the fall. “However, you won’t see me out there promoting this film or any of my upcoming films as I take this important step in my own protection.”
He hopes his work speaks for itself. With the film and the letter, he wants to normalize talking about such topics and acting accordingly.
