Blink 182 singer Mark Hoppus has cancer. After three months of chemotherapy, he is now “better”.
Mark Hoppus (49) gives his fans an update on his illness: The singer of the pop-punk group Blink-182 went public with his cancer last week. How he is doing after three months of chemotherapy, “How do I feel today? Much better than yesterday. Yesterday was hell for me, but today I woke up and felt better,” said Hoppus. He didn’t have to vomit, so he would consider this day a “victory”, said the 49-year-old.
His last chemotherapy was also not as bad as the previous ones: “I wasn’t totally tied to the couch, miserable. I actually watched movies and went around cleaning the house and playing with my dogs.” Despite the small success, Hoppus is still dependent on staying at home. The chemo had weakened his immune system to protect himself, so he could not leave the house.
“I’m afraid”
his illness publicly last week. “It’s annoying and I’m scared,” he wrote. At the same time, however, he was “blessed to have such good doctors and family and friends by my side”. For the rest of his therapy he wants to remain “hopeful and positive”.
