The German actress Eva-Maria Hagen is dead. The actress, also known as “Brigitte Bardot of the GDR”, was 87 years old. “On August 16, 2022, our beloved Eva-Maria Hagen left this earthly world and preceded us to eternal home.” The statement also comes from Nina Hagen’s children Cosma Shiva Hagen (41) and Otis Hagen (32). The family mourn with longing, love and gratitude.
Eva-Maria Hagen was born in 1934 in the Prussian district of Oststernberg in present-day Poland. After the end of the Second World War, she first made a name for herself as a theater actress in what was then East Germany in the early 1950s. Later she was also active as a singer, painter and author. From the mid-1960s, she was targeted by the GDR leadership and was ultimately expatriated in 1977. At that time, she and her daughter Nina moved to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Eva-Maria Hagen was last seen in the “Großstadtrevier”.
Up until around ten years ago, Eva-Maria Hagen appeared regularly in German cinema and TV productions. She shot her last film “Lore” in 2012. A year later she took on her last role for television in the series “Großstadtrevier” alongside Jan Fedder (1955-2019).
