Concern for Princess Charlène of Monaco: After a breakdown, the wife of Prince Albert II is in a clinic. The condition of the 43-year-olds is stable.
According to consistent media reports, Charlène von Monaco, the wife of Prince Albert II, was rushed to a hospital in South Africa by ambulance on Wednesday night. The alleged reason: a breakdown due to complications from a severe ear, nose and throat infection that she contracted in May.
Palace confirms “sudden collapse”
The palace is said to have already given the all-clear. The 43-year-old is currently in a stable condition in the Netcare Alberlito Hospital in Ballito, north of Durban. The official statement also mentions a “sudden collapse” before a planned operation on September 3rd.
Charlène von Monaco has been in South Africa since March. She originally traveled to her homeland to support the fight against rhino poaching. The princess wanted to stay ten to twelve days, as she revealed in an interview. But then health complications made a return trip to Europe impossible.
Prince Albert visited Charlène in South Africa
Before her trip, Charlène had already undergone an oral surgery, and later an infection in the ENT area occurred, as the Prince’s Palace announced. In mid-August, Prince Albert II’s wife was operated on again. You could fly back to Europe at the end of October at the earliest, said Charlène before the procedure.
Recently, rumors about a bad state of health made the rounds again and again. She herself gave the all-clear in the summer and said that she was fine, she just had to wait to be with her children Gabriella and Jacques and her husband again. Albert and the twins had recently flown to South Africa to visit Charlène.
