While vacationing with friends, Robbie Williams met music legend Barbra Streisand. He didn’t recognize her at first, and even the 80-year-old had no idea who was sitting next to her.
One would think that Robbie Williams has met numerous prominent colleagues in his 30-year career. But during a vacation he met US singer Barbra Streisand – without recognizing her. The singer told the BBC in a radio interview. “I was vacationing in Tahiti with a group of friends. Then another group of friends came along and we all got acquainted,” Williams said. When a woman introduced herself as Barbra, he just thought, “Oh, what a nice older lady.”

Only when he was sitting at the table next to said Barbra did he realize that it was superstar Barbra Streisand. The 80-year-old, on the other hand, had no idea that her neighbor at the table was Robbie Williams. “She thought I was a soccer player because we were talking about a charity soccer tournament, so she assumed I was playing soccer,” said the 48-year-old. When he then made it clear that he earned his money as a singer, she replied: “That’s great”. He did not clarify whether Barbra Streisand simply did not recognize Robbie Williams or whether the American actually does not know who the Briton is.
In return, he revealed another anecdote from his life in the interview. Asked by the moderators if he had ever done something completely rash, he came up with the following story: “I bought five cars in one fell swoop. When they were brought to my house, I became very sad and just thought: ‘Why did I do that?’ I immediately sold the cars again. It made no sense, especially since I don’t even have a driver’s license.”
Robbie Williams moved to Switzerland last year with his wife Ayda and their four children. Recently, however, the singer acquired a new luxury property in Los Angeles.
