At the German Acting Award on Friday, Eugene Boateng and Maria Hofstätter, among others, were honored.
On Friday evening (September 3rd) the German Acting Award 2021 was awarded in Berlin. Eugene Boateng (36) was awarded for “Borga”. In the film he plays a young Ghanaian who is hoping for a new life in Germany. Maria Hofstätter (57) was honored as the best “actress in a leading role” for her leading role in the Austrian film “Fuchs im Bau”. Cornelia Froboess (77, “When Conny with Peter”) received the honorary award for her life’s work.
Other award winners
Katrin Wichmann (43, “Sörensen is afraid”) was honored as “Actress in a Comedic Role” and Serkan Kaya (44, “KBV -” No special incidents) as “Actor in a Comedic Role”. The young talent award went to Hannah Schiller (21, “Tatort: Parasomnia”).
Walfriede Schmitt (78, “Forever Summer 90”) was honored in the “Strong Performance” category. The prizes in the supporting role categories went to Tristan Seith (41, “The Driven”) and Laura Tonke (47, “Polizeiruf 110: The Condemned”).
The German Acting Prize has been awarded annually by the Bundesverband Schauspiel eV (BFFS) since 2012. It is an “award by actors for actors and people who have inspired and promoted the art of acting in a special way through their work. The prize is given to personalities who, with their creative work, help German film to achieve a multi-layered identity and thus inspire others” ,.
